SolidFire Holds Second Analyst Day |
 |
Valhalla Technology Partner Dan Gordon attended SolidFire's second annual Analyst Day in Boulder, Colorado, on February 25. Some 50 analysts from both the market-research and investment-analyst attended the event.
"It's quite a coup for a privately-owned startup to get a crowd like this to Boulder in the middle of the winter," Dan said. "It was pretty clear to me that the crowd thought well of the company's product line and approach. A number of the attendees encouraged the company to share their story with the market, broadly."
The company made a number of product announcements at the event, including the availability of a software-only version of their storage system to run on several industry-standard platforms for what the company called "hyperscale" customers. Perhaps the most newsworthy announcement was, in the words of a Forbes article on the event, "...the promise that its flash products will never become obsolete. The company is so confident that its flash is robust that it is offering an unlimited drive wear guarantee for all systems under current support plans."
Kudos to CEO Dave Wright and his Marketing team - James Whitemore, Jay Prassl, Nancy Hurley, and others - for putting on a great event, and a great source of buzz, and goodwill, for the company.
